About Me


I’m Sathish, a KDB+ Developer with over 1.8 years of experience working across KDB+, servers, Azure, Python, Shell scripting, and Snowflake. I began my IT career in 2024, and since then, I’ve been passionate about building efficient systems, solving complex problems, and continuously leveling up my skills.

I enjoy tackling challenges and love the sense of reward that comes from solving them. My long-term goal is to deepen my expertise in financial systems and quantitative technology by mastering KDB+/q and the broader finance domain.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me exploring new technologies, solving tech challenges, or watching anime to unwind.

  • Working primarily with kdb+, which is my core role and area of responsibility.
  • Actively upskilling in PySpark and Databricks to support data processing and analytics tasks.
  • Expanding knowledge in Generative AI concepts and applications.
  • Learning financial domain concepts to better align technical work with business requirements.

Data Engineer Trainee [Sept 2024 - Nov 2025]

Syneoshealth
  • After moving into a full-time role, continued to expand technical responsibilities within the team.
  • Developed and optimized KDB+/q scripts for efficient data generation and processing, including integration with ChatGPT models.
  • Performed server-side operations using the Linux command-line interface.
  • Worked with high-volume KDB+ databases, including flat, splayed, and partitioned table structures.
  • Built seamless data workflows by integrating q scripts with Python and DuckDB.
  • Gained hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning (AML), contributing to end-to-end pipeline development and automation.

Internship [Feb 2024 - Sept 2024]

  • I began my career at Syneos Health as an intern, where I received training in Oracle APEX, including the App Builder, as well as introductory training in KDB+/q.
  • After completing the initial training phase, I transitioned to the KDB team and focused on expanding my knowledge of KDB+ and its related tools.
  • I successfully completed comprehensive KDB+/q developer courses and earned a certification.
  • Throughout the internship, I solved numerous programming challenges on the AquaQ Challenge Hub and Advent of Code using the q language.
  • I also analyzed and optimized existing KDB+ scripts to enhance performance and contributed to developing efficient KDB+/q scripts for data processing.
